Wainuiomata is also blessed with a great golf course it has a good variety of different holes.
A good hole and test of Golf is the Elbow a short dogleg left hole measuring about 330 metres.
This is one of the highlights of a challenging and interesting course.
To get there follow the Coast Road it will be on your right hand side ten minutes from drive from the main shopping centre.

Recreation:
In the earlier days in Wainuiomata until now there has been a lot of recreational activities, with a lot of bush walks, fishing and pig hunting.
If you go through Wainuiomata it will take you to the Coast Road near the end of the Road you will find the Rimutaka forest park where there are a lot of tracks, swimming holes, camping grounds and if you want to go walk and stay the night there are cabins in the grounds.
If you go further down the Coast Road you can find a track to take you to the Baring Head lighthouse and just past there is the Wainuiomata beach, where you can do fishing but not so good for swimming.
